We took it easy on our last morning in Wānaka. We were going to this this place. It was awesome. We packed up and checked out of our AirBnB. There were still a few food spots in Wānaka to check off the list before driving to Queenstown. First, we tried a matcha latte at a Curbside Coffee & Bagel food truck (top matcha from Wānaka). Then we grabbed a butter and sugar crepe from Charlie Brown Crépes for fuel. We the easier Gladstone Track Hike around Lake Hawea to give our legs some rest. On the walk, we ranked some of the Wānaka food spots and the Kamino poke bowls were at the top. So we both got the exact same sweet and spicy chicken poke bowl from yesterday (not mad). We also had a delicious blueberry scone and an oat plus chocolate chip cookie for the walk to the car.

It was an easy hour long drive to Queenstown but super windy. We checked in our hotel in Frankton (just outside of Queenstown). We drove 10 minutes to explore Queenstown and find dinner. We walked the main streets and found the city pretty average. Very touristy, typical shopping, and not quite like charming Wānaka. We decided on ramen for dinner and it was decent. All in all, we already missed Wānaka. Maybe we would go back? We were super excited for our biking vineyard tour tomorrow though.

if you are lacking things to do, Queenstown has a great jetboat ride up the Shotover River, and challenging whitewater rafting excursions. The night life is also fun, with live music at many bars.
