Last day, so had to go out with a bang! Earlier in the week we had booked a shuttle to see Moraine Lake at sunrise. Many of the bus options were sold out by the time we booked, so we booked a 5 am shuttle with Moraine Lake Bus Company. What we didn’t look up before we booked was what time the sunrise actually was….sooooo we had a cool (more like pretty cold) ~1.5 hours to keep ourselves busy and wait for sunrise. Brian kept himself busy with a little circuit series (including pushups and rock toe taps), while Anna stayed bundled up and held down the best spot for sunrise.

Once the sun finally did rise, we had a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. While it wasn’t the clear sunny days we had been having, the clouds added some drama to the mix.

Feeling like we saw all the things and happy as ever, we started our trek back to Calgary for our mid-day flight home. We of course had to stop at our favorite Communitea Café for a breakfast send-off (huevo burritos all around).
All in all, this trip was one of our favorites we’ve ever done together. It was the perfect mix of beautiful weather, lots of outdoor activities (hiking, paddling, swimming), and there was no way to beat the incredible views. Brb while we go look for real estate in the Canadian rockies…
Au revoir!
