Big hike number 3 of 3! The plan was to get up with our 4:30 am alarms. We both looked at each other and agreed without saying anything that maybe we would just take a pass on this hike. After snoozing for 20-25 minutes, we then looked at each other and decided that since we were up, it would be time to go, up! Our bags were already packed so we got in the car for the 30 min drive to Isthmus Peak. Unlike Roy’s Peak (packed lot), there were only 2 other cars in the parking lot. At no point did we feel unsafe, but if you prefer the idea of hiking with/around other people in the dark, this hike may not be for you. With about ½ mile left to the summit, the sun started to peak out from behind the mountains to the east. Anna lead the charge and we dashed to the top! It was probably a tie between our summit and the sunrise. We took some photos and obviously Brian managed to climb something else. We alternating walking and jogging down.

You guessed it, food was up next – and lattes. We stopped at Curbside Coffee and Bagels for a matcha latte. Second stop was Good Spot for a turmeric latte. Third stop was back to Dripping Bowl for acai. We changed back at our place and hit the beach for a swim. You must be thinking that wasn’t really much of a breakfast after another 4000 foot, 10 mile hike. Lunch came early with a burrito bowl and mango smoothie. We then did some more beaching, swimming, relaxing, and reading.

Our AirBnb was a little outside of town and was very close to a cool new restaurant called The Stoaker Room. A stoaker is a converted wine barrel that is designed to steam and smoke meat with a unique oaky flavor. We were stoaked to try it. We were stoaked while trying it. We were stoaked after. We had venison with a cherry glaze and salmon topped with pineapple and teriyaki. We added caramelized carrots and an Asian salad. And then came the crack pie – true to its name. Thick ground graham cracker like crust with soft rich caramel on top – and a little vanilla a la mode. Talk about stoaffed. We needed a few more steps to get to 30k and so we hit the beach one more time for sunrise. Pretty epic day – tomorrow is our last full day.
